sniffily After being selected from the over eighty contestants as the “Terrible Kitchen Contest” Winners on July 15th, we’ve been working with Kelly and Todd to finalize their NEW kitchen plans…ÂÂ
The cabinetry has now been ordered and is en route!!
The two photos we have posted are the computer generated renderings of their chosen design:
The First Image depicts the Main Perimeter cabinetry which is going to feature a KraftMaid Maple Door in the Belmont Style, which will be finished in “Canvas” Paint with a “Cocoa” Glaze. This paint with glaze finish uses coats of beautiful colour that are warmed and softened, creating visual depth. The wood door receives rich, semi-opaque colour and then glaze is hand-applied to bring out the ornate details, giving the appearance of heirloom cabinetry with added sophistication. A beautiful Franke Manor House Apron Sink will be fitted into the countertop; often referred to as the “Farmhouse” sink the apron style is made with functionality in mind, and its signature trait is an apron front that drops down in front of the sink instead of stopping at the edge of the countertop. It’s made for heavy use, and built to weather the spills, drips, and splashes that came with keeping a kitchen on the farm. And because its practical and familiar design harkens back to an earlier, more utilitarian time, it adds a down home feeling to any kitchen.
The Second Image shows the countertops will be a stunning hand selected Natural Granite, soon to be determined. Granite countertops provide a luxurious uncompromising beauty and elegance, and are naturally durable and easy to clean. The Granite countertops are continued onto the marvelous island which will be the center of the kitchen.
The Island and cabinets in this kitchen share a clean and traditional style. The island will feature Birch cabinet doors in a dark stain with a custom finish; the dark finish of the island will pop against the creamy white backdrop. An island in a contrasting colour adds a great deal of interest and design appeal! Whether used for meal preparation, extra storage, extra seating, or as a nightly homework zone…A kitchen island expands the functionality of any kitchen! And having a second working sink facing outwards to the kitchen placed in the island is a major bonus for anyone who likes to entertains, or has kids: being a part of the conversation and being able to interact whilst prepping a meal is a wonderful feature!
Stainless appliances, Crown molding, and oil-rubbed bronze hardware and faucets add the finishing touches to complete this elegant new kitchen!
We can’t wait for the well thought out plans to finally come to fruition…Watch for the updates as the progress continues on this “Terrible Kitchen” Transformation!!
